On September 29, Meta expanded Muse for small businesses with skills and connections including Shopify, Canva, Slack, Stripe and QuickBooks, alongside Facebook and Instagram business tools. At announcement time, Muse is available in the US and Canada; this is not a worldwide launch.
What does working on behalf of a business mean?
An agent’s usefulness depends on a specific assignment. For a small shop, that might mean drafting a posting plan from a public catalogue. Define the task: three drafts, a target audience, a product list and no publishing without your decision. Then check prices, availability and customer promises in every draft.
This is our suggested first evaluation. It gives the owner a concrete result to assess; a general request to run the business leaves too many decisions unspecified.
How Muse gets permission to act
Meta describes a separate Sentinel mechanism that evaluates connector access and outgoing network actions. The main agent proposes an action; Sentinel checks permissions. Credentials are separated from code executed by the agent.
A key detail is that approval may cover one action, a task, a period or an ongoing grant. References to approving publications, messages or spending therefore do not mean a fresh dialog appears every time. Read the scope of the permission you grant.
